High aspiration for men's soccer

The Hamilton College Men’s Soccer team begins the 2016 season, its 19th under head coach Perry Nizzi, looking to get back to NESCAC championship contention. Last year the Continentals won more games than they had in three years and are hoping to continue on an upward trajectory. While the season was very successful overall, the season opening, a double overtime loss was a tough pill to swallow at the season’s outset. Despite not enjoying the start they had hoped for, the Continentals wasted no time getting back to their winning ways, securing victories in three of their first five games.  The Continentals beat Tufts, the 2014 national champions, in a thriller and ended the season on a great note by controlling the home turf and shutting out Colby.  More ...

Key volleyball contributors return

The Hamilton volleyball team, led by Head Coach Erin Glaser, will look to bounce back from a disappointing 2015 campaign, in whcih the team sported a 6-18 record. Having gone just 1-9 in NESCAC conference play, the team will look to bounce back and emulate the success of their impressive 15-12 2014 season, which included four conference wins and an extremely close quarterfinal loss against eventual NESCAC champions, Williams. The mountainous region of Central New York is not exactly what one might call prime golf country, but that does not tamper the enthusiasm of Hamilton’s golf team. This fall, the Hamilton men’s golf team anticipates considerable success on the links as it builds upon veteran leadership with an infusion of young talent. Strong returning defense key for women's soccer

The Hamilton College women’s soccer team returns eight starters from last year’s squad, which advanced to the quarterfinals of the NESCAC playoffs. Last season, Hamilton’s overall record was 7-6-3, highlighted by a stretch run in which the team allowed just four goals in the last nine regular season games. Hamilton led the conference in both goals and shots per game while placing third in both total goals scored and total assists. More ...

Field hockey looks to continue winning ways

The Hamilton Women’s Field Hockey team enters the 2016 season with hopes of improving upon their success from last year. In 2015, the Continentals had their first winning record since 2010 (9-7) and made the NESCAC quarterfinals, but suffered a first round playoff loss to field hockey powerhouse Middle- bury. W. tennis sweeps three-match homestand ahead of season’s close

After a hot start to the spring which saw them win eight matches in a row at one point, the Hamilton women’s tennis team had hit a rough spot.  But despite entering this past weekend on a three-match losing skid, the Continentals bounced back with a vengeance to take three wins in a row against Le Moyne, Ithaca and Trinity College.  More ...

W. lacrosse team to face Amherst in opening round of NESCAC playoffs

The Hamilton women’s lacrosse team will head into the NESCAC postseason as the 12th-ranked in Division III. The Continentals finished with a record of 10-5, including a 5-5 record within the conference, which leaves them sixth in the NESCAC heading into the conference playoffs. In the first round of the playoffs this Saturday, April 30, Hamilton will travel to third-seeded Amherst. The matchup was locked in based on the outcome of two NESCAC games on Wednesday, April 27. Although Amherst lost to Trinity, 11-7, the Lord Jeffs stayed ahead of Colby for the third seed by virtue of their 8-4 win over the Mules on April 9.  More ...

Golf squads each finish in fourth at Williams Spring Invitational

The Hamilton women’s golf team closed out their spring season last weekend with a number of personal bests, while the men’s team hopes to channel last week’s slightly disappointing fourth place finish into a learning experience ahead of the NESCAC championships on Saturday.  More ...

Women’s lacrosse to face No. 7 Trinity in final regular season game

The women’s lacrosse regular season is coming to end after a strong second-half surge. The Continentals have only suffered four losses thus far, all to ranked opponents. The team has scored 161 goals overall, good for an average of 11.5 goals per game. These impressive accolades have earned Hamilton the No. 12 spot in Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association’s most recent ranking.  More ...
