While the Hamilton men’s hockey team fell just short of a NESCAC championship, the team played impressively all season and put themselves in a situation to win the title. Despite not winning the NESCAC championship, the Continentals’ season is not over, as their hard work and inspired play throughout the season was recognized as they received their first ever bid to the NCAA Division III tournament. Hamilton College Men’s ice hockey continued their historic run this season with a resounding 4-2 victory over the Bowdoin Polar Bears during last weekend’s Feb. 25 game. The game represented the quarterfinal round in the NESCAC playoffs. As first seed, Hamilton hosted the game, and will now host the remainder of this season’s postseason games. Though the recent stretch of warm days and clear skies has been a frustrating tease, it has also been a pleasant reminder that spring is around the corner, and that Hamilton men’s lacrosse will be hitting the turf soon. Last year’s losing record means that this year’s team will be “playing with a chip on their shoulder,” according to Head Coach Scott Barnard. The team’s unequivocal goal, and expectation, is to make the NECAC playoffs and host. The recent successes of the men’s soccer and hockey teams give Coach Barnard hope for his own men. “Our expectation is to host. The Continentals women’s lacrosse team is looking to continue their impressive streak of extended success. In eight of the last 11 seasons, the team has won 10 or more games. Last season they finished with a record of 10 wins and six losses. Unfortunately, they lost their matchup in NESCAC championship quarterfinals with Amherst 15-5. The women were ranked 19th in the last Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association Division III Top 20 poll of 2016. More ...
After securing first place in the NESCAC regular season, Hamilton has earned the number one seed in the playoff tournament and aims to remain at the top of the pack. Being the number one seed, Hamilton will play at home as long as it remains in the tournament and, with a win on Saturday, would bring both semifinal games and the finals, to Sage Rink. More ...
After wrapping up the regular season with a 14-7-3 record, the Hamilton women’s ice hockey team is moving on to the NESCAC playoffs. Finishing as the #3 seed in the conference, the Continentals will host at least one game over the course of the playoffs, the first of which is upcoming this Saturday. The quarterfinal contest between Hamilton and sixth-seeded Bowdoin will be held at Russell Sage Rink at 4p.m. on Feb. 25. More ...

This past weekend was an exciting whirlwind for the Hamilton College men’s hockey team, whose victories against two NESCAC rivals came in the last minutes of each game. Fresh faces carried the team on the Feb. 10 and Feb. 12 games against Connecticut College and Tufts University respectively, with two of the goals coming from first-year students. After splitting last weekend’s series and taking two ties on the series the weekend prior, the double wins are a huge help to the team, especially in guaranteeing a home seed in playoffs. The Continentals now hold possession of second place in the NESCAC conference with a solid record of 9-3-4, only one win behind first-place Williams College. More ...
