Yellow Fever

What is yellow fever? Is it creepy? How did it begin? We don't know, but that's okay, we still talked about it. Is liking asians as a "type" racist? What is the difference between liking black hair and liking Asians? Recently at Hamilton there has been many cases of "yellow fever" and for some reason it doesn't sound as innapropriate when it involves an Asian. Hamilton Crushes, Hamilton Secrets- are the comments on these facebook groups more innapropriate then one might first believe? Do you feel flattered or creeped out? Asians, as a minority, are the "exotic ones", especially as a new minority here in America, and there are repercusions for this. Well, there are some hilarious youtube videos on yellow fever, (Wongfu productions comes to mind) and it is something that needs to be kept in mind. Now it is not only girls who are feticized but also guys, especially as kpop bands are becoming more global. Yet how is yellow fever worse than Asians having a thing for other Asians? There are some crazy kpop fans out there- really crazy, and that doesn't seem any better.
