Ellen Hull is in her 13th season
as Hamilton's head coach for women's cross country and track and field.
Hull's teams have made four appearances in the NCAA championships,
including three straight from 1999 to 2001. The 1999 team finished in seventh
place, which is the program's best showing ever. She has coached four runners
to five NCAA All-America awards. Maggie Hanson earned All-America honors in
1999 and repeated the feat in 2001. Jen Cammarano
was also an All-American that year. Hull
coached NCAA individual qualifier Alyson Grant in 2002.
Hull guided Hamilton to four straight Liberty League
(formerly Upstate Collegiate Athletic Association) titles from 1998 to 2001,
and has five league championships overall. Hull was named the 1999 NCAA Atlantic
Region coach of the year and earned a similar honor from the league in
2000.
Academic success is a primary
focus of Hull's
program and she has had numerous athletes named to national and conference
all-academic teams. Two of her cross country runners were selected to the
2003 New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) fall all-academic
team and four made the Liberty League all-academic team this past year.
Hull earned her bachelor's degree
from SUNY Plattsburgh and her master's degree from Ithaca College.
She was an assistant coach at both Plattsburgh
and Ithaca
and was the head coach of the men's and women's track and field teams at SUNY
Morrisville. Hull has also served as the
president of the New York State Collegiate Track and Field Conference and is
an accredited Level II USA
track and field coach.
Hull resides in New Hartford with her husband Brett and
their daughters, Emily and Juliet.
Brett Hull, MEN’S HEAD COACH
Brett Hull is in his 14th year
as the head men’s cross country and track and field coach at Hamilton. Hull guided the
Continentals to third place at the 2003 Liberty League (formerly Upstate
Collegiate Athletic Association) championships and two of his runners earned
all-league honors for finishing in the top 14 individually.
Hull has led his program to success
at many levels. The Continentals have three top-five finishes at the New York
State Collegiate Track and Field Conference cross country championships in
the past six years, and has regularly placed among the top 10 teams at the
NCAA Atlantic Regional championships.
