Hogwarts at Hamilton was started in 2002 by a small group of Hamilton College students, as an improvisational performance for children of all ages based on the books by J. K. Rowling. In its initial year, the performance was done by 8 people in a few rooms. Since then, the cast has grown to over 40 people and the set has moved to an entire building on the Hamilton Campus.

During each hour-long show, children, students, and parents are given a tour of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry by a guide from one of the four Hogwarts houses.  New classes, new characters, and more interactive events will make this Hogwarts one that you won't want to miss, whether you're a child of 5 or a child of 50!

This event is entirely student-run, from conception to execution. We, the students of Hamilton College, direct casting, costuming, characterization -- all aspects of the performance. We operate on a small budget from the school, with meetings beginning as soon as students begin arriving on campus at the end of summer. Because Hogwarts at Hamilton is a free event, we are a non-profit organization, though we accept donations at the door for local charities benefiting children's literacy in the Oneida county area.
