Unfortunately, the race proved more difficult than anticipated, with each team falling short of their ultimate goal of finishing first; the women placed 6th and the men placed 7th.
More ...Last week, football coach Steve Stetson said, “we’re going to alter little” in the team’s gameplan. But right now it appears that the Continentals aren’t going to experience sustained success with their current strategy.
The Continentals simultaneously put together their worst offensive and best defensive showings of the season in their 13-7 loss to previously winless Colby on Oct. 25. The Continentals dropped under .500 for the first time this season and have lost three straight games.

After a couple of close games with Williams and Tufts the field hockey team feels ready to head to Maine for their first playoff game in the NESCAC against number one Bowdoin College. The women’s team has already traveled to Maine over fall break where they experienced a very good Bowdoin team in what was a tough loss.
Mary Lancaster ’12 commented on the Bowdoin loss, “Everyone took our losses to heart and there was a visible depression of team spirits.”

Hamilton goalie Liza Gergenti ’14 may be all smiles off the field, but on the field, she is a force to be reckoned with.
As a first-year, Gergenti played a crucial role in leading the Continentals to the second round of the NCAAs, and this year she led her team to qualify for the NESCAC tournament.
Hamilton athletes are known for holding up against the subzero temperatures of upstate New York, yet the field hockey team seems unable to take the heat that the rest of the NESCAC has brought this year.
Despite a phenomenal 2010 season (where the team travelled all the way to the Liberty League semifinals), 2011 has thus far proven to be lackluster.
