April 11, 2013The outdoor track season lasts a brief month and a half, which adds gravity to each meet and urgency in the buildup to the end of year. Coach Brett Hull declared that it was vital for the team “to build upon the success that our team realized during the indoor season.”

April 11, 2013While Hamilton softball’s two back-to-back wins over SUNYIT on April 4th were well-deserved, they were not a big surprise to Head Coach Bill Spicer. “We played well and the result was what we were expecting,” he said. These wins sparked a fire in the players that led to an exciting 13-7 win against Amherst College, currently ranked third in the West Division, in the final game of their triple-header against the Jeffs last weekend.

April 4, 2013While other students relaxed on Spring Break, the Hamilton baseball team started its season in Florida. The team played thirteen games over nine days, including six different doubleheader sessions. They got off to a great start with 11-3 and 8-3 wins against Framingham State. Tim Burke ’16 and Gabe Klein ’13 both went 2 for 3 and scored 3 runs while Lukas Bridenbeck ’13 went 2 for 4 with 3 RBIs in the first game. Alex Pachella ’15 pitched a complete game, allowing only two runs despite eight hits.

April 4, 2013At the start of Spring Break, the Hamilton men’s tennis team triumphed against the Rochester Institute of Technology 7-2. They recovered from their difficult loss on March 9 to third ranked Williams College. Senior captain John Franzel breezed through his singles match without even losing a game and won his doubles match alongside James Oliver ’15 with a final score of 9-7.

April 4, 2013As school let out for Spring Break, the softball team traveled to Fort Myers, Florida in search of better field conditions. Their season opener was against the University of Wisconsin-Superior at the Cape Coral Spots Complex on March 18.

April 4, 2013While most of us were home sitting on the couch, junior swimmer Maggie Rosenbaum was in Shenandoah, Texas competing against the best in the nation. Swimming in her third consecutive Division III Swimming National Championships, Rosenbaum placed second, fourth and seventh in her three individual events.

March 7, 2013For the seventh year in a row, the men’s squash team competed at Wesleyan University’s Rosenbaum Squash Center in the 2013 National Team Championships from Feb. 22 to 24. The No. 23 ranked Continentals (7-14) competed in the Division C bracket for the Summer Cup along with seven other teams ranked No. 17-24 by the College Squash Association (CSA).
