New funding codes will increase equity, transparency

This semester, Student Assembly exhausted the majority of its budget well before Fall Break. Additionally, a majority of its annual budget is placed in holds for different groups, including HAVOC, ASB and Club Sports. These issues stem from systemic flaws in the current, vague funding codes, which use only a first-come, first-serve system to allocate funds. Virtual tours, online admissions tools can’t replace college visits

Physically visiting colleges had a huge impact on where I decided to apply, as well as what school I ultimately decided to attend.  Of course, I didn’t base my choices on scenic views or how much free merchandise prospective students received at an admissions office. But I did notice small aspects of the campus such as the dress of the tour guides and the strength of its recycling program.
