Pants for Pete: Review of the Performer's...Fashion Sense

CAB came through this year. If you haven’t heard yet or didn’t go, Pete Davidson came to Hamilton last Wednesday and it was an absolutely hilarious comedy show. Davidson is one of the featured players on Saturday Night Live. He is best known for being the youngest on the show and for being from Staten Island. Having someone from SNL come to campus was exciting—nearly every seat in Wellin was taken. Round of applause for CAB for getting a big name like that! More ...

You've got mail

At a place like Hamilton College, home of one bookstore and a bunch of trees on campus, students don’t have wide access to buy things they may want or need. As a result, either Amazon Prime becomes your best friend, or you learn to cherish the unexpected care packages that your parents send off, each filled with love and the essentials you were too lazy to buy yourself. Some of the items we most look forward to are... More ...

Where in the World is Charles Dunst '18

The plan was to take part in the Spring 2017 Washington, D.C. program. However, even before President Trump’s election, my plans had shifted. The D.C. program seemed like a safe choice for a few reasons. D.C, although not my native New York, is a city—and an American one at that. The culture, language and public transportation would all come naturally. Although Budapest is far from a comfortable Northeastern city, the culture and public transportation have all been relatively easy to acclimate to. The language is another thing. More ...

Democratic Discussion: Lessons from 2016

It is reasonable to prophesize that 2017 is going to be a year of drama and uncertainty. Ever since the political shake-up sent a shockwave across the country, there has been no lack of political movements and clashing of opinions. From the controversial decisions made by our new president during his first week of office to the anti-abortion right rally in Washington last week, these events brought unsettling news. Unfamiliar with America’s complicated political landscape, I was nevertheless impressed by the actions taken by such diverse groups of people to defend the values they believe in. More ...

Mr. Right for Mr. Hamilton

With the atrocities that we call an upstate New York winter finally hitting hard enough that Hamilton students are refusing to leave their beds, except for the occasional meal or participation-heavy class, FebFest has come to the rescue. To start off the week-long celebration, Social Traditions held their annual Mr. Hamilton pageant the evening of Monday, Feb. 13.  More ...

TEDx at Hamilton College

Speaking, listening and acting proactively and effectively are three of the skill sets that Hamilton embraces, in the hopes that its students will become talented speakers with the ability to one day change the world. During this past weekend at the annual TEDx conference, themed “Against the Grain,” four speakers from across the country visited the college campus to offer inspiration for these behavioral goals. Connecting communities with Fun(d) Fest

Over this past weekend, the Inter-Society Council (ISC) took over the Fieldhouse for a night and threw one of the biggest fundraising events of the year. “The Charity Fun(d) Fest” featured activities and light-hearted competitions between participants. All the proceeds were split between four charities, each of which had its own team: Planned Parenthood, No One Left Behind, the Midtown Utica Community Center (MUCC) and Be the Match. More ...
