Sex and the Campus: Butt Stuff

As my senior year and time as your resident sexpert comes to a close, I want to make sure that I don’t leave one area of sex unexplored: anal sex. I’ve hesitated to write about anal play and anal sex because it’s a difficult topic to tackle and one that I am relatively unfamiliar with. I also hate the way the word “anal” sounds TBH. Despite my reservations, I’ve heard from friends that butt play can be pretty fun and sexy, especially with a partner you trust, so I vowed to check it out. More ...

Where in the world is Cesar Renero ’17

First, let me get the “everyone should go abroad” rant over with: Hamilton is a claustrophobically frigid prison; you should go off-campus at least once. Right, done. Spain! More ...

Baby bootie business is booming

One of the greatest questions after finishing college: what happens now? For many the answer is the beginning of a single career. For Kirkland College alumna Michelle Facos, the answer to that question has changed, shifted, compromised and continues to morph with every new adventure. “That’s one of the great things—you can always kind of reinvent yourself,” said Facos. This week 25 years ago: Faculty Challenges Evaluations

At its March meeting, the Faculty approved a motionexpressing a “lack of confidence” in the college’s system of evaluating professors. The Faculty also discussed “ideas regarding general education, focusing on  enabling students to find connections across disciplines, according to the minutes, and listened to reports from Eugene Tobin, Dean of the Faculty, and President Payne. Ancora! A very average hodgepodge

The Ancora! restaurant sits at a wonderful location right on Genesee St. in downtown Utica, just next door to the historic Stanley Theater—a Baroque cinema house from the 1920s. Its clientele largely relies on its nearness to the movie theater, but convenience often does not translate to quality. Cognizant of the dependent relationship between the restaurant and the theater, the owner, Dan Loconti, describes the restaurant on its website as “the ideal compliment [sic] to any evening.”  More ...

From Where I Sit: Hamilton’s International Perspectives

During the three years I have spent in the U.S. as an international student, I have come to realize there are many misconceptions about countries that lie outside of North America and Europe. One of those countries is Colombia, the country where I am from and where I grew up. I have decided to address some of the most common misconceptions that I have heard about Colombia in hopes of clarifying them and  giving a clearer and truer picture of what my country is actually like. Putting Hamilton on the MAP(DA)

Unless you’re a member of the Hamilton College Debate Society, you are probably not aware it exists. Unfortunately, Hamilton Debate’s lack of recognition extends beyond our own campus and into the sphere of the American Parliamentary Debate Association (APDA).  More ...

Senior Reflection: Day 0

Three weeks ago, western New York enjoyed its first serious snow storm of the season. Airports were shut down, highways closed and most people peeked out their curtains and decided not to go to work that day. And somewhere further down along the East Coast, a small bag of stem cells was collected from an anonymous 24-year-old donor and began to make its way north to Rochester.  More ...

Spontaneous Spring Break Flights

As a preemptive plea for travelers, the Syracuse Airport boasts, “You really can get there from SYR!” This is mostly true. You can fly direct to 17 locations. They remind prospective travelers that these destinations offer connections to hundreds of domestic and international destinations, so it isn’t that inconvenient of an airport. They also “hope to add new flights soon.” Even though that doesn’t seem to be true (especially since they recently cut their service to St. Petersburg), that shouldn’t stop students without spring break plans to take a dream vacation to one of Syracuse Airport’s destinations. We’ve taken the liberty of providing you with the top ten cheapest flights to make your break a spontaneous adventure. More ...

Searching for gold in the leprechaun closet

With every special event comes various forms of paraphernalia designed to entice the curious college student seeking free merchandise. Once these events come to a close, however, there is an equally special location for those extra Class and Charter Day t-shirts and Chili Cookoff aprons. Tucked away is a time capsule of commemorative stock that has endearingly come to be known as the Leprechaun Closet.  More ...
