The Hamilton College Figure Skating Club (HCFSC) serves to give students and faculty with an interest in figure skating a way to skate here at Hamilton. No experience is necessary - skaters of all different levels are welcome. Our club represents a variety of skating levels, from beginner to the USFSA Senior-Level competitor. Club members can skate recreationally or can participate in a variety of competitive opportunities, representing Hamilton College through the Hamilton Synchronized Skating Team or individually in intercollegiate competitions. HCFSC also serves to promote figure skating on campus through late night public skate events, our annual Febfest skating exhibition and our Basic Skills Learn-to-skate program.
Our practices take place primarily at the Sage Rink on Hamilton College's campus. We have our own ice time in the mornings and on select evenings, as well as access to the daily public skate sessions at the Sage Rink. We offer weekly lessons to skating club members with our coach, Julia Roach.
We compete in synchronized skating at the Open Collegiate level, and we also have a competitive team that participates in freestyle events and represents the school at intercollegiate competitions.
