Team History
How HET Started
The Hamilton Equestrian Team is a club sport that the college officially recognized in the fall of 2003. Our club was formed by several students on campus who were avid equestrians and wanted to see the sport become part of the Hamilton community. These students lobbied for the institution of an equestrian club on campus and sought to form a team that could compete in IHSA shows. Over the past several years the team has grown in both size and reputation as the Hamilton community becomes more and more aware of the team's active presence on campus.
Fundraising and Donations
While the Athletics department covers the basic operating fees for the team each semester, given a limited budget, the team must fundraise on its own in order to supplement the funds allocated to the equestrian team each year. In addition to team fundraising, the team benefits from alumni, student, and parent donations made to the Hamilton Equestrian Team. If you wish to make a donation to the team, please see this page for instructions: https://www.hamilton.edu/alumni/ways_to_give.html Please be sure to SPECIFY that you would like your donation to go to the Hamilton Equestrian Team, in order to ensure that your gift goes directly to the team.
