The Asian Cultural Society (ACS) is committed to promoting diversity and emphasizing
cultural enrichment and awareness. ACS is a non-discriminatory organization whereby
Asian students, Asian-American students, and students interested in the Asian culture
can come together and interact while enhancing the understanding of various cultural
and ethnic values on the Hamilton College campus. Through ACS, we hope to create
opportunities for students to have a social outlet, communicate with one another, and to
learn about other Asian cultures.
Our activities and involvement at Hamiltion include:
Mentoring
We teach the Chinese language and culture to Chinese children adopted by local American families.
Diwali
"The Festival of Lights." We have a dance performance, serve Punjabi food, and party to Indian music.
Lunar New Year
We serve Chinese food and have dance performances.
Asian Week
Asian Week is a week of events that highlight the different aspects of Asian culture. Events vary from year to year.
International Dinners
Food from all over the world is catered for the event sponsored by the International Student Association and the French Club.
